Two tiered strawberries arrived spoiled and damaged. Strawberries were inedible on arrival. Chocolate was melted, strawberries came in a damaged packaged and the strawberries seemed as if they were old. Asked for refund and was told the company does not give refunds. Will never purchase from here again
Ordered chocolate covered strawberries on a tiered plate. Showed up chocolate was all melted and the plate was broken. What a disappointment.
We ordered a gift delivery for a client - checked the website's FAQ's for the delivery options to ensure that the products were delivered on time and in good condition. The recommendations were vague, but it was clear that when delivering strawberries and other edible products, it was important to choose a 1 day shipping option, which we did. It also stated that if the weather was hot, the strawberries would be substituted with chocolate truffles, which they weren't. Our clients eventually informed us that the strawberries were left out in the sun & completely inedible - no one knocked or notified them that it had arrived (although they were home). The ceramic tiered serving tray, which was the main gift item in the order, was broken. The only item that arrived in one piece was a small plant that was meant to be an add-on item (which we believe was substituted with a different type without letting us know). When we reached out to the company to kindly replace the broken tray and inquire as to why the chocolate-covered-strawberries were left outside to bake in the sun (and/or not substituted as mentioned), they refused to offer ANY replacement or compensation, quoting the fine print which states that without pictures of the damages, estimates for repair, or other records, claims will be denied. In our experience, many gift delivery orders are meant to come as a pleasant surprise to the recipient upon arrival; wouldn't sending them a message in advance of delivery, asking them to please ensure that they take a photograph of any potential deficiencies, not only ruin the surprise but put kind of a damper on the whole gesture? What if the recipient is unfamiliar with technology? Or perhaps we should we have asked our clients to dig the melted, inedible food and sharp, broken dish out of the trash to take a picture. We do business differently. Not only should a company take more responsibility for the way in which their product is being delivered, but we expect that the company has (or should have) some kind of insurance in place to cover the occasional issues that inevitably arise. We purchased another gift from a better company to replace the $100 succulent (as that was the only usable item Hazelton's delivered to our client).
We decided to order a gift package for a 40th anniversary for a family member. It arrived on the wrong day and was damaged. We tried to contact Hazelton as soon as we saw that the delivery date was wrong, but no one called us back. The china tray that her the chocolate covered strawberries was shattered and the berries were most inedible. We subsequently called and emailed and not one has bothered to call us back. If Hazelton does not rectify this situation, we and our family will never use them again.
I ordered Chocolate Covered strawberries to be delivered to my mother for Mother's Day. I placed the order on May 9, 2020... so a bit late.
On May 13th, I received an email confirmation that my order of Two Tiered Chocolate Dipped Strawberries had shipped. However, what arrived was a CUTTING BOARD and A WHITE PLATE.
The order should have been canceled or I should have been contacted to approve a substitution.
I have complained to the company directly, through the Better Business Bureau and through my credit card company. They have not responded to any of these complaints.
